Kelly S. Buckley kicks off book launch at Extreme Ice Center on Saturday
INDIAN TRAIL - Kelly S. Buckley, local author and hockey mom, will celebrate the launching of her book with an event at the Extreme Ice Center from 5 to 8 pm on Saturday.
Kelly, who lost her hockey-playing son Stephen on July 4, 2009, has turned a series of journal entries into a book called Gratitude in Grief, Finding Daily Joy and a Life of Purpose Following the Death of My Son.
The public are invited to attend the event. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Stephen was a rising senior at North Carolina State University, and a goalie on the men's hockey team.
