Union County Photo Gallery | Shots fired at officers during search of suspected drug house, police say

MONROE - Shots were fired at officers while executing a search warrant on a suspected drug house on Wednesday, Monroe Police said.

The Monroe Police Department Special Response Team was entering the home in the 700 block of Wiatt Street when 43-year-old Quenthoney Frentzjewl Black shot at the officers, police said.

According to police, no one was injured during the shooting and officers did not shoot back.

Black, of the 4000 block of Richardson Street in Monroe, was charged with seven counts of assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer and one count of discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Two men who lived at the home that was searched, 27-year-old Lamar McClendon and 32-year-old Nicholas Tramel Williams, were arrested on drug charges.

McClendon was charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Williams was charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Black, McClendon and Williams all have a first court date set for February 8.

Police issued an arrest warrant for a fourth suspect, Sharlene McClendon, 19, of the 7000 block of Windsong Way in Wingate, for felony maintaining a dwelling for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance.
