Union County Photo Gallery | Hot rod and vintage cars cruise Concord

Concord, NC -- If you wanted to enjoy the throaty roar of a street rod's powerplant or just take a trip down memory lane, the Goodguys Southeastern Nationals at Charlotte Motor Speedway was the place to be this weekend.

More than 3000 cars and their owners, plus thousands more spectators, assembled at the speedway to pay homage to the 50 year old tradition of car restoration and enhancement. Just about every decade of auto history was represented between the 1920s to today.

The event also featured a swap meet for car enthusiasts to buy, sell and trade custom parts.

If car owners had the "need for speed", they could test their reflexes and machines against the clock on a small track on the infield of the raceway.
